Mission

MacDill Air Force Base, Florida, home of the 6th Air Refueling Wing; Headquarters, United States Central Command (USCENTCOM); Headquarters, United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM); and 31 diverse mission partners and representatives from 44 nations. As the 6th Medical Group leadership team, it is our pleasure to welcome you to MacDill!
 
The mission of the 6th Medical Group is a straightforward one: "Mission Focused – To Prevent, Heal, and Deploy!" We provide daily comprehensive health care to the DoD’s largest single-unit catchment area, supporting over 265,000 eligible beneficiaries. We are a 595-person team managing a $46.2 million budget, annually producing 139,000 clinical, 35,000 dental and 630,000 ancillary visits for 30,500 enrollees in eight facilities at two military treatment facilities, located 18 miles apart. Most importantly, we oversee the medical readiness of 24,100 Total Force service members. At the 6th MDG, we set the bar for other military treatment facilities. We do all of this in beautiful Tampa, with a vision of delivering Agile Warrior Medics and Unmatched Global Care.
